FOUNDER'S MESSAGE

I'm from a third-generation instant coffee family, so instant has been a part of the family conversation since I can remember.  Made famous as stand-alone beverage sold in jars at grocery stores, the other applications – as a good ingredient, in RTD drinks, functional beverages, and foods –are what excite me about future of instant coffee.  We are driven here at Ground Up by instant's limitless versatility. The current needs and new uses for instant across industries creates opportunities to solve meaningful problems for clients. It’s rewarding work.

In the 2010's, instant coffee was experiencing a period of production innovation resulting in a marked improvement in cup quality.  The technical improvements dovetailed with a surge in consumer demand for high-quality, fully-packed soluble coffees. At around the same time, the intersection between the beverage and the nutraceutical industries were creating interesting opportunities in the newly named functional coffee industry. Rounding things out, we saw a growing market requirement for coffee concentrates, instant cold brews, and other innovative products. What was missing was the experience, specifically at scale, to meaningfully assist the industry with solving the problems across each of these categories.

Which lead me to start Ground Up.  Our mission is to develop and deliver soluble coffee and tea products for our clients. To do that, we go deep into the formulation and development process, and build the supply chain necessary to bring our customer's ideas to life. Led by an experienced team of industry leaders, Ground Up is well positioned to help handle the complexities of the supply chain for our current and future clients – allowing them to seize the opportunity instant coffee presents their food & beverage portfolios.
